The Project

Abandoned In Detroit began in September 2005 following a photoshoot that Stephen Boyle (Fuzzytek Photography) held at the Piquette Market ruins. He was intrigued by the notion of placing beauty in the ruins. The lines of jagged brick offset in the foreground by the curves of human form. However he was also seeking to elevate the status of Detroit - glorifying the abandoned spaces is not the intent. The intent is to demonstrate the rise of creative beauty, fashion here in Detroit amidst the rubble of history we encounter daily.
