Fuzzytek has sent you a group e-mail from Abandoned In Detroit.

Hello everyone - THIS Sunday is the date for the next project
photoshoot. Plans are to revisit the Dequindre Cut, a location we were at from July to September 2007.  I'd like to extend a very special
invitation to everyone that was part of the photoshoots at that time asking them to make a return visit. The location has gone through MAJOR
redevelopment.

  • A blacktop pathway runs from beneath Jefferson up to Eastern Market past Gratiot
  • All railroad ties, tracks, and bedding have been removed
  • Lamp posts have been placed along the path
  • Landscaping of the embankment is underway

This was all predicted by my contact at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation over a year ago. Personel there have transitioned and the property is being turned over by the Rails To Trails Greenways Conservancy to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy. I've made a call and proposal to be included in their grand opening ceremonies. The goal is to hold a fashion show that exhibits the prior condition of the pathway and show people fun activewear that Detroit designers are creating. So the call for designers is leaning toward activewear such that our fashion presentation fits with the theming the conservancy sees with their opening celebration.

At this point the date for the celebration is undetermined and could be this fall or spring 2009. Lets hope for 2009, so we can prepare through the fall and into winter for a spectacular show.

I need coordinators in the project, people that understand behind the scenes work, can take minimal direction and keep in touch with people as we extend the project. Please call Stephen at 248-632-6156 to understand better the various coordinator roles and responsibilities. A few hours of time a week can make a remarkable difference in this project. We have new locations and organizations to partner with around metro Detroit.Website changes continue to be made as time permits. Additional content administrators and promoters for the project would be very helpful.

Thank you for your interest in the Abandoned In Detroit fashion showcase project.
